Minimal Intervention with Maximum Effect: The proposed renovation of an existing wholesale warehouse on the East Side of Vancouver into the new Elliott Louis Gallery provided ample opportunity to create a space suitable for the enjoyment of fine art. It is intended that the upgrade of this building will empathise with the existing artist live work lofts in the area to become an artists enclave.

A minimal number of rooms and walls are installed in the space to keep the existing warehouse feel while also providing good quality light and air for its purpose. The 3,630sqft Gallery Space will also include an Art Rack Room where patrons can discover their own special piece, an office area with "inner sanctum" for finalisation of sale, a new reception area, washrooms, storage and lunchroom.

Completion: March 2008

Construction Budget: Undisclosed
