The proposal is to remodel and upgrade an existing 2,100sqft house in Burnaby R5 zoning district for a private home owner.
The interior is to be completely refurbished and remodelled allowing for more generous and practical connection to the lower ground level with a new recreation area and bedroom. At ground level, it is proposed to upgrade with new bathrooms, bedroom, staircase and kitchen and bar area leading to an exterior covered and enclosed deck.
Additionally, it was proposed to upgrade the exterior with 4 options of elevation treatment as shown above.
It is intended that the project will also incorporate many sustainable design features, such as high efficiency heating system, water efficient plumbing fixtures, natural ventilation, energy efficient light fixtures, low VOC emitting products, highly insulated walls roof and floor slab, and high performance windows.
